For several years one of the favorite events of the Great Jones County Fair has been the Saturday afternoon ritual of sprawling over almost a quarter mile of hillside with a favorite group of friends and family, favorite cold drink, and enjoying some of the best dirt track races in the state. This once a year event at this track is a most unique day of racing and now, for 2011, this event will now take place on consecutive days at the Great Jones County Fair!!!
Starting at 10 am on Saturday and 11 am on Sunday the "Mid-Season Dirt Classic" will have fans putting down blankets at 8 in the morning to get their favorite viewing position. The races have always included all of the favorite local racers, and stiff competition from a 150-mile radius.
Our support thank-you includes promoter, Jerry Blue of West Union, and the Hughes family for continued hard work to secure trophies and sponsors. The races at this fair have a tradition of multi-generation drivers that have supported the Fair and included this Saturday afternoon in their racing schedule each year. The General Admission reserved seating is five dollars ($5) in the amphitheater, and all of the rest is FREE!

Gate admission will be $10 this year and can be purchased at the gates. Gate admission is not included in the cost of an event ticket. Children 10 years of age and under get free gate admission.
Gets you in the Gate for the 5 days of the fair. Cost is $29 if purchased in April or May and $32 thereafter. Available by coming in or calling the Fair Office
Also available at many banks in Monticello, Anamosa, Cascade and Wyoming.
